Brian Walker


Brian K. Walker graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science, and he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston. While attending law school at the University of Houston, Brian K. Walker clerked for famed criminal defense attorney Richard ‘Racehorse’ Haynes. Prior to attending law school, he worked as: an intern on a U.S. Presidential political campaign, an Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms of the Texas Senate, a Legislative Assistant to a state legislator, and a Messenger for the Texas Senate. Since becoming an attorney in 2004, Brian has achieved a substantial measure of success.

After graduating from law school in 2003, Brian K. Walker went to work in Marshall as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office. In less than a year and a half, he tried many cases before Harrison County juries. In June of 2005, Brian left the District Attorney’s office to join his father in forming the Attorney Offices of Walker & Walker. Together Brian K. Walker and R. Scott Walker have tried numerous cases before juries. In the early part of 2011, Brian and Scott joined Patrick Kelly to form the law office of Walker Kelly PLLC and opened offices in both Dallas and Fort Worth. In forming Walker Kelly PLLC, Brian and his law partners are more easily able to expand their practice to several areas of the law and into several regions of the state.

In addition to Brian K. Walker’s law practice, he has worked as an adjunct government professor at Panola College in Northeast Texas, has taught Criminal Procedure for the Northeast Texas Association of Paralegals, and has been involved in various philanthropic and political endeavors. In 2008, Brian K. Walker was narrowly defeated for the Texas House of Representatives and lost his State Representative bid by a nominal 114 votes out of 58,000 votes cast. Brian is the current Chairman of the Tarrant County Bar Veteran’s Committee, and is a member of the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans Committee. Brian is a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force Reserve.

A significant part of Brian’s practice is representing deserving veterans in securing various benefits available to them. Brian K. Walker is one of the very few attorneys in the South who is accredited by the VA to represent veterans in securing their VA benefits at all levels of the VA hierarchy before all VA offices throughout the United States. Brian is a frequent lecturer and author on veteran’s benefits law. Brian has taught continuing legal education courses before various groups including the State Bar of Texas, and Brian has authored several articles for various periodicals including the Texas Bar Journal distributed to all licensed attorneys in Texas.
